Our Fabrics
We pride ourselves on using only the softest and highest quality fabrics. Ranging from Peruvian Pima Cotton to washed linen and even silk; each of the fabrics is hand chosen and uniquely dyed to get brilliant hues and popping colors. We invite you to learn the story behind our fabrics.
Naturally woven by the mulberry silkworm, silk is interlaced to create a cocoon against nature’s elements. The shimmering and durable qualities of silk is a product of its prism-like structure which also reflects light beautifully, giving it extra luster. Daniel chose to integrate silk into his collection for the same reason it was naturally derived, to craft a lavish cocoon, but now for the body. Not only on its own throughout the collection, but integrated into modal and cotton to create hybrid silk textiles that can be found in daniel buchler year-round staples.
All cottons are not created equal. The smooth and irresistible touch of Peruvian Pima Cotton is a result of hand harvesting and growth in the rich soils and perfect climate of the Northern coastal valleys of Piura, Peru. It is no wonder why it has been coined “the most luxurious cotton”. Fused into daniel buchler robes, sleepwear and loungewear, Daniel himself visits Peru yearly to ensure that daniel buchler basics are flawlessly crafted. Once picked to perfection, the Pima is jersey knitted to form a smooth, breathable and sumptuous fabric that drapes your body and feels like second skin.
Chosen for its extremely soft-yet-sturdy qualities, velour is one of the primary fabrics used in the casual collection. Velour often consists of different fabric ratios, but Daniel chose to combine 80% cotton and 20% polyester by sheering loops of fabric together to produce a unique and luxurious consistency, ideal for loungewear. Once obtained, Daniel has the fabric double dyed which allows for a deeper, rich color that will last without the typical fading nature of most similar fabrics. It only takes one lounge in daniel buchler velour to understand how quickly these can become a staple in your wardrobe.
Research has proven that hugs release endorphins and serotonin, generating several health benefits. Wrap yourself in a daniel buchler hug - his signature plush robe. The collection started with this well-regarded, essential garment. Heavy enough to retain warmth after a hot bath yet adequately breathable to keep on for those lounging lazy Sundays around the house. Exceptionally soft and comfortable, these plush robes are produced to cloak and envelop your body in a long lasting embrace.
